A Daily Invitation

As my birthday rolled around I received many blessings by seeing or hearing from loved ones and friends. I remember thanking God for those people in my life. However, it made me think we often seek God in the midst of trouble, but how often do we turn to him when everything’s going alright? In the middle of daily routines do we look to God? 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 says, "Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus."

How often do we thank God for what he has provided for us during a regular day? Turning our focus towards having a conversation throughout the day and thanking God for whatever comes our way, can turn a seemingly common routine into a way of worship. It invites God to walk actively by our side throughout the day, and puts him at the forefront of all we do. I ask that you try setting an alarm or writing a message to remind you to invite God into your day. This can help bring the perspective of God from a distant stranger to a friend and loving father. It’s how I began to draw closer to God. I left notes through my house with reminders to thank God and it made a lot of difference.

I want to leave you with one final verse. Isaiah 41:13 says, "For I am the Lord your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you."
