Due to the threat of COVID-19 (the coronavirus) and the desire to keep our community safe, we have made the difficult decision to close our doors and instead offer an online-only worship experience.
This decision was recommended by me, Pastor Billy, to our church board, who voted to approve this path, which will bring us into compliance with the recommendations of our denomination, the Center for Disease Control, President Donald Trump and Kansas governor Laura Kelly. A large majority of churches in the Winfield area and across Kansas have decided to do the same.
We invite you to join us for a special, online-only worship service through our live streaming page or on Facebook Live this Sunday at 10:30 a.m. We as a pastoral staff and praise team have been working to bring special emphasis to the online streaming experience with better audio and video quality and some outside-the-box thinking. I want to encourage you to participate in the service through worship, comments on the live stream, submitting prayer requests and online giving.
Let me be clear: the church is not closing. YOU are the church. During this season it is important that you reach out to your family, friends, neighbors and fellow church members. Make phone calls, send text messages, write letters. Care. Work. Love. Minister to each other in ways that remind our community that our call to “Love God and Love Others” has not stopped!
In compliance with the governor's statewide stay-at-home order our church office will be closed through April 19, however you can still reach us during the week at (620) 221-2357 and firstname.lastname@example.org. You can also contact a pastor online and give online through our secure, convenient website.
To be clear all in-person, on-site events and gatherings have been cancelled. Pastor Gage and our teens will meet virtually online on Wednesday evenings.
Make sure to keep an eye on our website for updates. Above all else – PRAY! Our community, country, leaders and healthcare workers need God’s protection, guidance and wisdom. We will never stop being the church.
I am going to miss you so much on Sunday. This is odd. This is different. This is uncomfortable. But I know this is the right decision for this time, and the Lord is still on His throne.
May the Lord bless you and keep you.
May the Lord make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you.
May the Lord watch over you and give you peace.
Pastor Billy Byler
