Our continued response to the COVID-19 pandemic

Church family,

Our desire to love God, love others and remain healthy during this pandemic has led us to make a few adjustments to our small group ministries.

CHANGES

Starting this Sunday, Nov. 22 Sunday School classes will not meet in person. We’ll instead offer online Sunday School through Zoom starting at 9 a.m. Note the earlier start time. To join the class online, follow this link: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/81284636125

Wednesday kids ministries, adult small group ministries and meals will also be paused through the end of the year. Our all-church Christmas dinner has been cancelled.

HERE’S WHY

Our county has seen 638 active cases this month, and the rates seem to be rising. The Cowley County Health Department recently launched a public health campaign called “Crushing COVID in Cowley County” asking our community to be personally responsible for smart public health decisions and reducing the spread of the virus. In a small classroom setting, we cannot properly socially distance. Our school system responded in a similar way recently, and local schools are no longer meeting in-person. We want to join county leaders and school leaders in making decisions that will prevent the virus from easily spreading.

THIS SUNDAY

Our Sunday morning worship service will continue as scheduled with in-person worship starting at 10:30 a.m. The larger space in our sanctuary allows us to remain socially distanced far better than our smaller classrooms. We’ll also have every-other-pew blocked off on the side sections for those who wish to have extra spacing. It’s also important to continue to wear face masks at all times and avoid handshakes and hugs. Children’s church will be offered during the service, because our kids will be able to spread out in our large fellowship hall. Our teens will be able to do the same on Wednesday nights.

Thank you again for your continued flexibility and willingness to help keep our church safe and healthy. As always, please stay home if you’re feeling sick. See you Sunday in-person and online at winfieldnaz.org!

May the Lord bless you and keep you,
