Handling The Problems

No matter the preparations taken to prepare you to make your own way in life. Taking those steps and all the choices around them are not easy to make. Sometimes the pressure weighs you down from all sides and you lose sight of what to do. A passage that brings me some comfort in these times is Psalms 3.

“Lord, how many are my foes! How many rise up agianst me! Many are saying of me, God will not deliver him. But you, Lord, are a shield around me, my glory, the One who lifts the head high. I call out to the Lord, and he answers me from the holy mountain. I lie down and sleep; I wake again because the Lord sustains me. I will not fear though tens of thousands assail me on every side. Arise, Lord! Deliver me, my God! Strike all my enemies on the jaw; break the teeth of the wicked. From the Lord comes deliverance. May your blessing be on your people.”

Even though David was being attacked by many people led by his son Absalom, he kept his focus on God to lead him through it. Even his own subjects turned their back on him during this time. David gave this entire situation to God and in the psalm recognizes that the Lord is protecting him and allowing him to live. David asks to be delivered from the situation pressing in around him and is later restored.

It reminds me that if God could handle David’s life or death situation he can absolutely handle my small problems.
