Look for God

I see God in the strangest of things. Just the other day, when I was walking on the bridge that leads out of town towards Ark City, my hat (the only one I ever wear) flew off my head from the strong winds. Luckily, I grabbed it in the air before it could float right over into the river below. God did that. Then there is just the texts I get from friends that send me scripture for no reason at all. They don’t know what I am going through or that the verse they send me is just what I need to hear. God knows. God did that. Or the time last week when I was on a walk, thinking of everything that was going on in my life, and out of the 4,000 songs downloaded on my phone, the perfect one came on. The one song that had the perfect lyrics to calm my weary soul and bring you closer to God. God did that.

I could go on and on all day about these little moments in my life where God was there, but to save you time, I’ll stop there. My point is that God is everywhere and in everything around us that is good. Colossians 1:17 says, “He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together.” Our God is for us! Our God knows each and every need and he meets every single one of them. Sometimes it may not be in the way that we want, expect, or think that we need it to be in. But those moments, after long reflections and realization of his intended purpose for them, are the ones that change us the most. My challenge for you today is to look for those moments that you have had recently when things are just to perfect to be a coincidence. He does incredible and remarkable things because he loves us. Find him in the ordinary and find him in the extraordinary.

With love,
