Thank Him

This week has been a busy one. Monday was packed full of meetings, finals, work, and my personal devotionals with Christ. Then Tuesday was a lot of devotional time, preparations to go back to school, finals, and work. Wednesday, I slept in late because I was exhausted and ended up only having time to do work, youth group, and wasn’t motivated after to do any of my homework so I spent some well needed time with some friends. But this morning God blessed me with something that saved me from a lot of hectic.

So it’s the summer, obviously. And the summer is hot. So I leave my windows down so that when I get in my car, it’s not 100 degrees. If you didn’t know, it rained this morning. But for some reason, I woke up right as it started to rain around 7 something this morning. At first, I was annoyed because I didn’t know how long it had been raining and now had to run outside in my underwear to roll my windows up. When I got outside, I saw that it wasn’t all that wet out yet. A sigh of relief came from me as I went to my car.

Still, I had a problem. Normally when I am up and out of bed, going back to bed is almost impossible. But the Lord granted me to rest and I fell right back to sleep until I got up around 8:30.

1 Thessalonians 5:18 says, “Whatever happens, give thanks because it is God’s will in Christ Jesus that you do this.”

The thing is, I know myself well enough to know that I would have been annoyed to get ready for my busy day that I have today and to get into a wet car. I know that I would be a little moody because I didn’t get the sleep that I felt that I deserved. But our God is good. He knows these things about me. I’m not sure what plans he has for me today, but I am thankful that he has already blessed me in the few hours I have been awake already. Look for the small things that he saves you from. They may mean more than you think.

With Love,

Intern Pastor Jc Pappan
