UPDATE: Pastor Billy's self-quarantine is over!

Pastoral Staff

Church family,

The results from CJ’s COVID-19 test came back negative! Thanks for your prayers and support. Our family's self-quarantine is over, and we’re excited to be back at church this Sunday. I hope you’ll join us in person or online at winfieldnaz.org at 10:30 a.m.

I have to admit these have been confusing times. Last week the governor of Kansas issued an order requiring the use of face masks in public spaces. By Friday the Cowley County commissioners had voted to opt out of that mandate. Then on Monday the city commissioners of Winfield voted to require masks in the city limits. It’s hard for anyone to keep up with the changing and contradicting actions from our elected leaders.

However, our church does operate within the city limits of Winfield and, therefore, we are included in the mandate to wear masks starting Friday. So I’m asking that if you choose to attend our in-person worship service this Sunday, please join me in wearing a mask. If you don’t have one, we’ll have some disposable masks you can wear. There are some exceptions to the mandate, and you can read more about it on the city’s website.

Regardless, I’m so excited to rejoin you this Sunday to worship the Lord together. We’re starting a new summer series that I believe is incredibly timely for us. Jesus has some fascinating stories in the book of Matthew that will guide us into discussions about what the Kingdom of Heaven looks like in our world today. Again, join me this Sunday at 10:30 a.m. You won’t want to miss it!

May the Lord Bless You and Keep You,

Pastor Billy
